PrinciplesRegardless of the angle of the boat, the ARC allows you to check the settings of the boat by yourself without any help or tools other than the usual wrenches.
No need to place the boat in a horizontal position. All the settings are measured from the slide, optimizing the rower’s position and efficiency. |
Functions> Ensuring that the pins are perpendicular to the slides
> Measuring the pitch of the pins, directly and clearly, (to check forward, back and sideways angles) > Setting and centering the span of the pins, for rowing or sculling > Setting the height of the gates from a clear direct reading > Clearly measuring the pitch of the oarlocks |
How to get started with the ARC
Put the ARC on the slides between the pins. Slide both legs onto the graduated tube. Take both graduated slide rulers off the legs and slide them onto the ends of the horizontal extensions. Centre the graduated tube with regard to the legs (same length to be read from the Zero to each leg). You are ready to rig the boat. |
MATERIALS
Anodised aluminium Connecting parts in ABS Weight: 3.5 kg. The ARC is supplied with a travel bag.

PARTS
Graduated aluminium square tube (cross section 40 x 40 mm), 960 mm long, with 2 graduated sliding extensions 410 mm long each. Allows the span between the pins to be measured up to 1840 mm. Two L-shaped legs with semi-circular feet the diameter of most slides, with 2 clips to provide a solid grip. Once locked onto the slides, the ARC is perfectly stable. The legs slide along the graduated tube to fit any slide span. They are fixed at 89° to take into account the usual position of the slide, sloping down at 1°. 2 vertical removable slide rulers measure the height and pitch of the oarlocks. |
